New Canaan Foreign Car is a family-run company devoted to the care and sales of fine European, Domestic, and classic cars. Established in 1964, with roots back to the very beginning of the motorcar, our auto repair shop has serviced thousands of the most exquisite automobiles ever made, and become a fixture in the life of New Canaan. Now in business for over 50 years, NCFC has established a reputation for dependability and honesty that’s among the best in the community (and superior to the competition!).

Our philosophy is to offer fair-value auto repairs and preventive maintenance services to keep you and your family safe and free from breakdowns. It’s our job to keep your car in the same reliable and beautiful condition it was in when it left the showroom floor, and we take that job very seriously! Through providing exceptional service, we can expand and enhance our shop to meet the needs and exceed the expectations of our customers and the entire New Canaan community.
Our History
New Canaan Foreign Car was established in 1964 by a master factory-trained Mercedes-Benz mechanic from Germany. The business was started to fill the need in the community for foreign car repair and sales after the Mercedes dealership in New Canaan closed. The original owner is personal friends with the current owners, Mark and Lucia Bagg, who took over the shop in 1992.
We Practice What We Preach
Our owners are a husband and wife team. The better half calls every customer after service to check on satisfaction. We give every car a complete 45-point safety inspection, checking for any maintenance that’s due according to the vehicle’s manufacturer. We also top off all fluids as needed, inspect all lights, and check tire pressures, including the spare. You gain peace of mind knowing trained professionals have inspected your car, and will notify you when your next service is due.

When we became owners of NCFC over 25 years ago, we made it our mission to become a car company people could trust, not only for reliable repairs, but for friendly customer service. Part of our employee training is to ensure everyone who works here treats our customers with the same care. This means that you, our customer, are the most important person in the shop—not an interruption to our work, but the purpose of it. You are not dependent on us; we are dependent on you. We are not doing you a favor by handling your automotive needs; the opportunity to do the job is a favor to us.

We believe our many loyal customers are proof we are achieving this goal. Over the past two decades, we have seen many changes in our community and the families we serve.
